Issues with modect

Have just setup an additional camera (Nextech QC3864 - pretty useless...), and trying to get motion detect to work.
Works OK for the initiall "All" area, but if I try and setup another area, doesn't seem to matter what I do, it will not detect.
Have tried to copy (mostly) the settings from the All area, but still no good. Have set to Fast, high/best, high, etc, but no good.
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks.

Likely it is the detection threshold. I changed to pixels instead of percent to gain tighter control.
My trick is to find a person sized object in the frame and draw a tight zone around it. The zone properties will tell me the pixel count. I delete the test zone and set the detection size to the same pixel count as the test box. Once that is done, I adjust up or down as needed, but those adjustments are usually small.

Does that help?

Thanks Andy.
Think it is more the dodgy chinese camera, but will continue trying...

Here is a good how to for motion detection: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Understandi ... or_Dummies

One thing I've found is that the settings can be too sensitive and you will get a lot of worthless detection's. Fog, snow and rain can fill up the storage. But with Zoneminder even iffy cams can be made to work well!
