I guess it would be great if it could be possible to create a kind of cron job defined by the web interface that would generate a divx file out of all images stored.

This would benefit:
- divx would be created in a less activity time (when the hardware would have a better load)
- this could be optional, so stessed servers could have this option off
- less harddisk usage after the divx generation

You can surely do this by yourself, just with a shellscript.

what you just will need to do is make some changes in zm to make it better working with this kind, like when you click above the event name, it should play the avi.

I've already done it.. Is there any CVS where we can put the contribs? Or how do i know it an important issue that will be accepted by zoneminder mainteiner, so i can prevent work that will be not used...?

Hi,

If you have made a change that will integrate with the rest of the system optionally (ie all videos are not always turned into divX) then just post it or mail it to me and I'll try and include it. You may find you need an additional configuration option in which case I can include that also if necessary.
