4 cameras sharing one BT878 chip.
I have 2 of my cameras in record mode all the time. Using appropriate Section Length and Frame Skip values, they capture approximately 1 frame per minute for 2 hours at a time. I then play the 2 hour events back in the Event window at 100x. When the Event window comes up, the event immediately starts to play as it should.
If I change the playback rate, another instance of nph-zms is started. If I
again change the rate, yet another instance is started. I still have just one event window playing the event at the last selected rate. All these instances exist in the process tree until they have finished playing the whole event at the selected rate. For example, if I change the rate to Real, that instance will exist for 2hrs. Closing the event window does not terminate the nph-zms instance.
I believe this has been happening for all events but wasn't noticed until I started recording long events. Motion detected events are typically short so the additional nph-zms instances would quickly disappear anyway.
When streaming all 4 cameras in montage view, 4 instances of nph-zms are started. As soon as I exit montage view, they end. The watch window also behaves as it should, ending the streaming server on exit.
Any idea what's happening? I often end up with many instances of the streaming server running for hours unless I manually kill them off.
Thanks
