Cam Configuration help

Post by massix »

Hi,
I'm trying to grab images from my D-Link 2100+ IP Cam, but apparently that seems quite impossible (D-Link documentation doesn't help much). On the other hand, since I'm quite new of ZM, I'm trying to better understand how to configure the "Source" Tab for AXIS 2100 IP Cam (which seems to be supported by ZM); in this case I can think about buying an Axis cam instead
Thank you
max
P.S. ZM is a GR8 project and I'm participating in the hope of givin my contribution in the close coming future :D

Hi,

I have a d-link DCS-1000W and the paths for that are just /IMAGE.JPG and/or /VIDEO.CGI I think. It might be worth trying that with your camera but if all it outputs is MPEG-4 then currently ZM won't read in this format I'm afraid. As for the Axis 2100 this post gives details of the settings one user has used but I think i've read that different firmware versions use different paths so you may have to experiment a bit.

Thanx for ur reply Phil,
I've tried what u suggested, but apparently neither JPEG image, nor MPEG-4 streaming is available from that kind of cam. Anyway your information about the AXIS cam setting is very usefull I think I'll turn into an AXIS cam,, although I'm not giving up in researching the way to grag video from D-Link: that will be usefull for somebody else who bought that kinda cam and wanna use it under ZM ;)

Max.
