Zoneminder not starting after crash

My system crashed again today, and after I rebooted it zoneminder isn't starting like it should. I connect to zm and I see my device files are in red. I also noticed that the 'run state' is stopped. I click on stopped and change the state to start. This didn't fix the problem, so I checked the logs and I saw this:

Command: start
Use of uninitialized value in numeric ne (!=) at /usr/local/bin/zmpkg.pl line 163.
Use of uninitialized value in chown at /usr/local/bin/zmpkg.pl line 165.
Can't change permissions on log file: Operation not permitted at /usr/local/bin/zmpkg.pl line 165.

When I click on my monitors all I get are broken images (I have to cameras, on a capture card based camera and the other a USB camera)

Any suggestions would be great...

okay, well i fixed this problem..

my zm_web_user was set to 'apache' in zmpkg.pl (even thought I changed that when I did a ./configure). I changed to it the debian default of www-data and everything works :)

thanks
