Setting for time between events?

Post by klick0 »

I'm looking for a setting that doesn't allow small back to back events. I would rather have 15-30 seconds of inacitivity joined with the next event. My problem is, where i'm recording sees a lot of motion, almost constant for 12 hours, but the motion does stop all the time, and pick back up again. So I get thousands of events a day, I want it to basically consolidate events more appropriatly, is there a setting for this?

I scanned the forums back 15 pages and couldn't find any setting that would do this, so I figured i'd ask. I believe the program motion has a setting like this, maximum time between events...

Thanks

The post-alarm buffer can be used for this in the monitor setup. You should set it to a value roughly equivalent to the number of frames you would capture in your desired time frame. So if you wanted the time to be 10 seconds and your camera was capturing at 10fps (on average) then set it to 100, for 5 seconds 50 etc.
