I've found myself in this scenario a couple of times. You're going through the days events, you delete some events only to find that the following events make the one you've just deleted quite significant. Perhaps the same person is constantly walking by, looking for something in your property and the one you've just deleted had a really good image of them?

Since zmaudit does the actual deleting, why not have the delete function move events to a state similar to 'Archive' where they can still be viewed and then delete them after a certain time has passed - say 24 hours?

Interesting idea, I'll have a think about that.
