parport interface

Presently I have a Dos machine which logs doorbell, door sensors
over parport.
Can I keep the same in zoneminder plus make doorbell/doors
to activate cameras?

ZM can be triggered by external events and interfaces. You will need your parport program to poke zmtrigger via a socket or file. Search for zmtrigger in the forums or in the docs for a bit more details (not that there is a lot of detail around).

May be X10 will be sufficient...
Meanwhile trying to boot live cd...
