Hi all (and phil)

all we know asf streaming works, but we should specify the format of movie streaming (like mpeg or even h263 aswell).

the problem is that if you change asf to any other thing, nothing works.... this is pretty strange.

i ve got a lot of problems in asf streaming (not about not to be able to playe the event, but delay etc etc and many errors in the log) and i would like to tryu any other thing.

Even using direct mplayer in linux, or trying to play saved events it only play under asf.

Phil or anyone, have you issued that ?

thanks for now

I am looking into support 3gp for streaming to mobiles but not quite got it working. I don't actually know what other formats are suitable for streaming or what plugins would support the. If anyone has any hints or suggestions I'll be happy to look into it a bit more.

h263 (ffmpeg does it very well, its very fast) mpeg, mpeg4 (divx)

all these are better than asf, which is a proprietary codec and has many bugs (ffmpeg listsĀ“people said that with a lot of examples)

but first i think true mpeg (even mpeg2) and h263 would be great

phil, did you had time to look at that errors ive said you ??? im looking into them since weekend

thanks

Hi all,
I have found that embedded kmplayer in konqueror plays streaming mpeg from ZoneMinder very well. I can specify asf or avi and both work equally well with either live streams or saved events. If I specify mpg then events play but live streams don't.

The new livecd will have everything preconfigured for this :)

Hi Ross,

That's useful. I suspect that we could probably get streaming going on more browser/player combinations if only we could work out the configurations necessary.
