Now the new RPM is up :D
Be advised that I don't have a system to test on so this may not work. Test whom may and let me know.

Hello Cordel.

That was a quick one! I will test it right away. May I know, which version of FFMPEG you have used with this version?

FFMPEG 0.4.8 was used. I can make one with the CVS ver if you want and have it up in 24 hours.

On another note.
Network streaming from zm to zm I get this error.
[Wed Mar 23 01:39:30 2005] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://localhost/zm/index.php?view=watc ... 0&control=

I'll test more in a while. Past my bed time.
Please let me know what don't work and I'll tackle it one at a time.
Cheers,
Cordel

If you could put a separate RPM with the CVS version, it will be great.
Thanks!

Well I'm not sure why remote cam from zm to zm didn't work on my build machine. I Upgraded my real zm box and everything is working okay :)
The Database automaticaly updated upon restart and life is good :D
The only thing I have found is that If http is selected for refreash The cycle window don't cycle. That was reported in the previous version and I should have looked into it. I'll do that now.

hey , do you think that the rpm package will work on debian?
(by means of alien generating .deb)

Thanks
Alex

I don't know enough about debian yet. I haven't looking into how the deb package manager does things yet so I couldn't tell you. I'm trying to put together a server that would allow me to run several differant distro's and package for all of them but the parts for such a machine are beyond my finacial reach at the monent. I would require an SMP machine with 1 gig of memory and about 200 gig hard drive to accomedate 10 distrobutions at the same time. I reallize that it a bit of an over kill but having the ability to run them all in htat fashon would mean that I'd be able to load the source and set the enviroment spacifics and let it go for 20 min and have all the packages for each distro and differant versions if need be. It would also save me allot of time to work on other things. Also there would be a backup of each distro and version that takes seconds to reload should something go wrong instead of hours like it does now. So until I find a way to get this dream machine a reality, I probably will not explore much futher than FC and will follow that as I just don't have enough machines nor the room to house many computers for the differant distros. More info about that is here http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4238

Summery, I do not know..

Which version of MYSQL etc ?

Hi Cordel,
I might have to resort to using this RPM :-)
Does it need to have MYSQL installed ? Guess so, in which case any particular version ? Same question for Apache and php.
It'd be great if it'd work with XAMPP - if you think it might, let me know and I'll give it a spin.

The RPM is designed to work with the default packages provided by the distrobution they are made for. Currently I can only support Fedora Core 2 and 3. I can make custom RPMs for a small fee (as it takes a lot of time to set up an enviroment to do). So basicaly if You do a FC3 Install then you just have to get the other required packages off my ftp and your set to go. As far as XAMPP and LAMP go. It could IF you configure all the packages to install everything in the same place as the distro does and of course you have to pay attention to versions, things like MySQL change the library exetentions on major released and in that case it will not work.
Cheers,
Cordel

RPM install went smoothly, but.....

Hi Cordel,

There's always a but, discovered this error in the log:

Starting pending process, zmc -d 0
'zmc -d 0' started at 05/03/25 21:07:54
'zmc -d 0' starting at 05/03/25 21:07:54, pid = 5297
/usr/lib/zm/bin/zmc: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libavcodec.so: undefined symbol: NeAACDecOpen
'zmc -d 0' crashed at 05/03/25 21:07:54, exit status 127
Starting pending process, zmc -m 1
'zmc -m 1' starting at 05/03/25 21:08:01, pid = 5298
'zmc -m 1' started at 05/03/25 21:08:01
/usr/lib/zm/bin/zmc: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libavcodec.so: undefined symbol: NeAACDecOpen

A quick google of NeAACDecOpen implies a name change - any idea how to fix this ?
FYI I down loaded all the RPM's required from same site a ZM into a fresh clean FC3 install with all latest updates applied.

Regards Tim

Fixed this one myself....

Had to use an earlier version of ffmpeg for some reason - error went away...

Self help is always great :D
The package is curently compiled with ffmpeg 0.4.8
I was trying to make another package built with cvs but haven't finnished setting the enviorment for it yet. What setting did you use to build ffmpeg?
you might need to go back and disable mmx if you have problems.
Kudos for getting 0.4.8 to build on FC3 I know it's a chore.
cheers,
Cordel

PS Happy Easter everyone

I found one minor bug from when I built the package. It don't appear to affect any thing that I'm aware of but I know it's there and if it did it would only affect the build. If there are no reports of issues I'll make my build and post Friday or Saterday.
Cheers,
Cordel

Phil,
I don't see any issue with why the cycle window don't work if refresh method http is set. All looks good to me yet it is not functioning. It will display the first camera fine then chokes when it goes to switch to the second camera.
Cheers,
Cordel
