Sorry if this in the wrong place, already possible/already done.
I was wondering what the maximum speed the host machine could stream a recorded image at?
I presume its quite high. Could this then be fed back into the server as a video feed.

My question/idea is
Select the day / time you want to look at say from 8 am to 4 pm then set the filter finding all relevant data for the monitor in question.
Once this data is found set an alarm area on a certain position, ie the till area in the shop a particualr door etc, then get the alarm thingy to find all motion in that area and show it in the list like normal. This would allow us then to search for activity in a certain area but ignoring all other activity.

Possible?/Already done?/etc etc

This retrospective motion detection has been mentioned once before as a request. So now that's two of you! It's currently fairly low down the priority list but the more people ask for it the higher it will go.
