Image duplicated 3 times? (and mono images not colour?)

Hi, well I took the plunge and bought one of the Grandtec 4 port cards, this one has the single bt878 chip on it.

(I should say at this stage I am using the latest ZM live CD- 1.21.0)

I've used option 77 as mentioned by somebody else on here, dmesg reports:-

bttv: driver version 0.9.14 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:01:02.0, irq: 9, latency: 64, mmio: 0xdeafe000
bttv0: subsystem: 3f3f:ff3f (UNKNOWN)
bttv0: using: GrandTec Multi Capture Card (Bt878) [card=77,insmod option]
bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00ffffff [init]
bttv0: using tuner=-1
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found
bttv0: registered device video0
bttv0: registered device vbi0

I also bought a new camera, its a Swann "OutdoorCam", small silver affair with build in circle of IR emitters and a photo cell.
I tested this on the TV and it works ok.

When I plug it in to port 0 on the card the image is kind of split in to 3 small images horizontal, there is a sample image here:-

I have another camera, which is some old PAL camera, this displays fine on port 1.
Oddly the image is mono too?

Ok, so I fired up 'tvtime' and I see it flick very fast from both inputs,
both images look ok, the new camera is colour, the older camera shows as mono, although I'm sure it is a colour camera?

So, I'm a little puzzled as to why the image should be repeated in three smaller images?

Any ideas most welcome!

Thanks
Mike

Hmm, I just checked this, my "old" camera which shows a full image in ZM, although mono only, is in fact a colour camera, I tested it on the composite input on my TV?

When using a 4 port 1 chip card like yours all inputs must be set to the same palette, format, and resolution. The chip can't switch between color and B&W, or NTSC and PAL.

So double check the settings in the source form of each monitor.

Also I've found that color Cams display in B&W on one input of some cards. !? Anyone else ever see this?

Try switching your old cam to a different input and see what happens.

I have found in the past that changing the card type affect whether the inputs are all colour or some B&W. Usually 77 gives you colour throughout but there may be others, and 77 may not work on your box for other reasons.
