Hi guys,
I'm considering buying an IP camera for security purpose.
My choice is balanced between the Panasonic BL-C10 (€179) and the Axis 206 (€200).
The thing is I have always been aware of the great quality of Axis webcams but I found out yesterday the PTZ panasonic cameras that seem to do a pretty decent job.
Have anyone around here experienced these two cameras ? What are their pros and cons ?
My heart is still going to the Axis..
What would be your choice ?
Seb

I've not used the specific Panasonic model you mention but I have the KX-HCM10 which is pretty good.
I like Axis cameras a lot but in this case I think your choice comes down to
1) Do you want fixed or wireless connections? I think the BLC-10 is fixed ethernet isn't it, the 206 is wireless (though the 205 is fixed and is much cheaper).
2) Do you want to be able to control where your camera is pointing. With the BLC-10 you can do this (though not through a huge range) whereas the Axis is fixed.

Hey there
Yes Phill the 206 can be a wireless, there is 3 models of the 206.
The standard model named 206, the wireless model named 206w, and the megapixel model named 206m.
I only have expirence with the standard model of the 206, and that is an ok camera in my eyes, but dont expect to mutch of the camera in low lighted arears.

I found out a few other demo sites of the BL-C10 and the image quality is quite good but not as good as the Axis..
http://www.ifds.dk/bl-c10.html
I'll check out how it performs at night..
Thanks for the answers and keep up the good work !
Edit : ok guys.. I just checked the technical details of the pana.. 7.5 fps in 640x480, that was not the lack of bandwidth of that demo site
Go for the 206 with its 30 fps in 640x480
