My live cd works well but very unstable, sometimes runs only 1/2 hour
and freezes.
What to do?

if live cd is freezing you might have a piece of unsupported hardware
Could do with a bit more info though. Whats your machine specs, and whats connected to it Live cd is rock hard on my machines and havent had a stablity problem yet. I even had a capture card fail and cause so much greif that on a reboot the machine would even post, but zm live cd was running untill o pressed the reset button

If you remove the capture card and leave the machine does it lock up then.
When it hangs at the moment how long(ish) has it been running for?
Id remove the card and see, that will remove the card from blame. Next thing id test is your ram

Hi Alex,
Before buying any new hardware let's try and figure out what the problem is here. This will require some sleuthing.
First question. Is this a real lockup. Try to connect to the box via ssh. If you can connect, the system is not really locked up or "frozen". If it is, then a hardware problem is almost certainly the cause. As James suggests, try removing the vid capture card. If this solves the lockups, then look at new cards. Again as James suggests test the RAM if the card isn't the problem.
If your system is using up all availible RAM it will slow down to a state that is very similar to a lockup. With 256 MB it would be possible to tax the system with a couple color cams, high res, large buffers, running X, firefox, etc. If this is the problem, add more RAM, reduce the buffers, boot to runlevel 3 and access ZM via the network, etc.
Do a little investigating and try to provide us more info to troubleshoot the problem.
