ftp upload

Post by jameswilson »

I have been messing with this and its great but.....

The files when uploaded appear to just have the event id as the title. Would it be possible (or maybe selectable) to have zm upload these files (saved by event id) in different folders according to the date. If you are keeping a large archive on your ftp server i already have started to wonder where the hell what i want is.

Also can the relevant parts of the mysql database be uploaded. I see an option for additional content but assume these are just the processing frames zm creates??

Cheers Again

Not as useful as what it seems you are asking for, but you can probably get the date by looking at the file dates, "ls -lrt" to list them in order by date.

What did you think i was after blazer?

I can do that but when you have multiple cameras from a site landing on your ftp server (which works great in modect mode btw) there may have been a delay in them getting to you and they the arrived time wouldnt match. At the mo you get a list like ..

Cam_10_Modect-37989.tar
Cam_11_Modect-37990.tar
etc etc

Now the event id it adds tot he end of the tar is little use as you have nothing to refernce to it. The only thing that nows what the event ID is and can do anything with it is the local machince hosting zm. The reason I am uploading is in case of a failure etc on the local zm machine, i would still have something at my end. Ideally i would like the zm machine to upload something and another zm machine treat it as a feed and make a databse entry, capture time etc, I assumed that was not on and thought at least you would have a chance of finding what you wanted if everything was subfoldered off, maybe /zm/events/Monitor_name/Date/ or maybe zm/events/Date/Monitor_Name at least then you might have a chance instead of trawling through tons of events manually. Also would be nice if a text file was addedd with the relevant info from mysql. Then at the very least you could search for a file containing.....

Thanks
