[solved] mixing BTTV 4chip/4ports with 1chip/4ports

Post by krzys31337 »

Hello,

i've got one bttv0 with 4 channels and one bt878A, and added second card, with 4 ports and 4 channels.

Every card left alone works pretty well. Combining them seems to be problematic and neither of them work.

Using kernel 2.4.30 and ZM-1.21-3.

Anyone having similar problems/setup?

I've not done what you have so I don't know if there might be any basic reason for it not working. The only I can suggest is to try moving the cards around into different PCI slots and seeing if that makes a difference. Getting your modules.conf file right can also be a bit tricky for multiple cards.

Done that.

Still no idea.

After many "shm get" error i've increased it by factor of 2 in /etc/sysctl.conf and 'sysctl -p' new setting.

In example bellow d0 and d1 are "4x1", d2..d5 are "4x4"

Don't know it's name, lspci says "4 generic pci cards", each one with bt878a and audio input.

Can't find it on http://pvrhw.goldfish.org/bttv/bttv-gallery.html

It might be worth running mysqlcheck on your database. The duplicate key errors look a bit worrying.

Solved:

Don't use any card=..., when mixing i use card=77,0,0,0,0.

First card is 4in1 and second is being treated as 4 separate cards.

Just for record: cart works pretty well. I've got ~20 fps on each port, and for "4in1" card 2-5 fps (while using more than one of four).

If someone would want any details please go ahead.

BTW mysqlcheck did that:

how are you setting your inputs in zm
assuming your using a single chip card you should be using different channels in monitor setup

I don´t have it installed now.
But I think I´ve put something like 0,1,2,3 in the devices.
It shows as if recognice the four cameras, but no images, except the first one.
I´ve installed from the cd live with mandrake 10.1.
The capture device was a generic bt878.
I think I will need really help.

its most likely your capture card wasnt properly identified by linux and so you couldnt select diferent channels if as far as the os was concerned they didnt exist.

First thing to test once it works with 1 is move the input and see what happens then
