Couple of questions running 1.2.3

Well my FC3 install has been up for almost two weeks and on the whole problem free. However:-

1. The placement of the camera means it gets a lot of bright sunshine/ shadows on it which seem to trigger alarm events - any ideas on what to tweak to reduce this?

2. Also, alarms get triggered by the whole picture going from dark to light or light to dark which i can only describe as looking like a line scan - it's a fairly cheap camera - again any ideas?

3. Other than backing up images, are there any other house keeping routines i should run/ look out for as i have never had a machine running 24x7 before?

My thanks to all involved in producing a really great piece of software.

I am experiencing similar problems (1 and 2) in my setup.

Things I experimented with:

I set my ALARM FRAME COUNT to 3 (in the Buffer Tab in the camera source)

This tends to work against sudden light changes, but if you set it to high you risk loosing short events.

On some monitors I also experimented with small PRECLUSIVE ZONES to catch sudden changes in light or camera analomies.

Ad 3) I've installed CACTI to monitor and graph the PC stati (Diskspace, Temperatures, etc...).
