Trendnet TV-IP100W freeze

Hi all,
I'm new to zoneminder and I'm trying to configure a trendnet TV-IP100W cam in 320x240.
I'm using a LiveCD 1.21.3 installation.
When I set /image.jpg in the remote host path, I am able to get a poor motion with a framerate that's between 0.75 & 1 fps.
When I set /video.cgi, I am able to get a (very little) better frame rate between 2 & 3 fps BUT then the cam froze after a couple dozen seconds.
When I'm accessing the cam using the built-in webserver (which involves a java applet to dialog with the cam) I'm able to get a 320x240 motion at about 20fps, which is good.
Has anybody been able to get better results with such a cam? And which config do you use?
TIA,
Sebastien.
