Apache2 hangs

Hi Folks,
System config:
ZM v1.21.3
Ubuntu 5.04 (2.6.10-5-386)
Apache 2.0.53
P4 2.8Ghz, 512Mb
2xBT878 4port sigle chip cards
No SSL, No Auth, No MPEG
Ok here's my problem, after a clean reboot the system works like a charm.
However after a day or so, not sure of an exact time, Apache2 appears to begin to 'slow', syptoms include poor response times in Firefox and when watching a recorded event initial image appears but playback doesn't begin for several seconds if at all, .
At some point after this Apache will 'hang' completely. Syptoms are no data is returned to firefox which shows 'waiting for ...' in the status bar.
During this time ZM continues to run detecting and recording events.
Killing and attempting the start the apache2 daemon results in a cannot bind to socket error reporting port 80 being in use.
Rebooting the server cures the problem.
Has anyone seen this and is there a fix?
Many thanks
Simon
