I have been thinking of how to offer a slightly more intuitive UI for zm. And i just had this idea.
What i was going to do was to add an image (map) of the site where zm is, home, work, school, factory etc. and add icons in the relevant areas where cameras are. Then hyperlink from that icon to the relevant live view with events listed. Then i thought of a few ways to improve it.
I thought it would need an icon button whater to load this image into a browser, in the console, that way its password protected if wanted.
Due to the way ie shows images i assume automatically its scaleable. Obviously this image would be created in your fav drawing package then made htmlified by frontpage or something.
It would be nice to have to option (by using differnt url in hyperlink) to show live images only or images and events.
Ultimatly once i figure an easy, cheap and flexible way to get alarms into zm these could hopefully be displayed too, ie door opening, movement detected, panic button pressed etc etc.
Any additions changes opions on good ar bad idea etc
Thanks
James

Hi James,
This is something I've beeen thinking about also. The simplest method I think would be to do something like this.
1) Open blank canvas in browser, installed cameras shown as icons along bottom (or side etc)
2) Upload image contain facility map
3) Drag icons from toolbar to correct locations in image
4) Icons when clicked bring up appropriate sub-windows.
Actually that sounds pretty simple full stop. If I get chance I'll try and mock something up!
