zoneminder mixing up my sources
I've been trying to get zoneminder to behave for quite a while but it comes down to this:
I have ZM running on my Apache webserver. I have 4 sources, each configured as remote but the URL is http://localhost/x.jpg, where x is 1,2,3,4. I have 4 jpgs with the numbers 1,2,3,4 and what I'm expecting to see in the montage view is 4 frames with their numbers. What I see varies a bit, but it's usually the first frame jumping between 1.jpg and 3.jpg, and the second frame jumping between 2.jpg and 4.jpg.
Note that none of this involves any actual cameras or devices, so it looks to me like a bug. The result is the same if I use Firefox or IE.
I'm happy to start chasing this myself, just wanted to know if anyone had seen anything like this or could offer pointers. Thanks.

Sorry but you have lost me...
Maybe I had a few to many to drink
Where are the jpg's in your root web directory coming from and what are you expecting to see?
This path doesn't resemble anything that I would expect to see from ZM, so are you saying that images in your root web directory are not displaying for another web page?

Cordel

md yes i have seen this but only on a couple of windows machines. Both were ms and both were knocking on. Basically if you have a 4 way montage every thing is good, if i call quadrands abc and d and cameras 123 and 4
You would exect a1, b2, c3, d4 but when it happens you get
a1, b2, c3, d4 then for a split second a2 b2 c3 d4 back to narmal then a1 b3 c3 d4 etc etc.
Reloadoing the montage stops it and it doesnt affect recording. Im assuming its a mix up at the ms end but i have no log files or any other info to work from..

Cordel: This a test setup that I developed to show the problem. The jpgs used to update from another process that I wrote but these jpgs I created with Gimp, and they don't update at all - just static files to show the problem. They are literally the numbers 1 with a pattern, 2 etc. Actually check out http://salem.dyndns.org/1.jpg and you can see for yourself.
Each source is set to remote. The server name is localhost, the pathname is /x.jpg.
James: I was hoping it's a browser thing (or a montage thing) but I realized last night that if you watch the first source only it still swaps between 1.jpg and 3.jpg.

I just opened up my console at http://salem.dyndns.org/zm.php. Take a look and see if you see the same thing; it might eliminate browser questions.

I changed the DNS entry, maybe didn't propogate yet. Try
http://141.150.102.215/zm.php
http://141.150.102.215/zm.php
Athough it might make since that if you point zms at a sequntial numbered jpg it migh try to steam the sequence as it would do normaly inside the folders for stored events. So It may be a bit confused. zmc is not normaly used to point at a jpeg in a folder either which is where the issue is and Phil would have to take a peek as he knows the code and would have better insight as to what might be going on there.
I would suspect that if you were to seperate the jpegs into differant folders that you would not have this problem. Otherwise under normal operation to capture images from a camera (either IP, or through a caputre card) or jpeg stream zms works fine.
You might check your logs to see if there are any errors reported that might contrubute to whats going on and post those as well. The more info Phil has the better.
Also see your PM.

the problem i have is like this but not as bad, out of 20 images 1 will be wrong. If i was watching over a high bandwidth link i wouldnt notice. But if I close and open montage again it stops which is what made me think it was a client problem not a zm problem. But yes its the same symtom if not the same cause.
