I was just looking around at how much the CCTV cards cost and I havent see one under 200.00 US yet and this is not including the cost of the camaras! Why not do the following:
1 4 port USB 2.0 hub
4 WebCams
4 16' USB cables
All together this should be about 200.00.
The only drawback I can think is low light levels, USB cams dont do to well with that. But hell get a 1.25 light bulb and place it where the camra is pointing.
Any other reasons you all can think of that would make this solution a bad one?
Why not go cheap'o

way it looks, lack of flexibilty, stuck with lens, short cable runs. I think also you run into problems with multiple usb cams on a single bus. Plus most webcams are poor image quailty cmos based etc
Cheap zm system is dont bother with a capture card and use axim 206's or something like that.
My 2 pence anyway
James
ps it does depend on what you want it to do. If its for your home etc just to keep an eye out then fine.
