Newbie - Mostly setup

Ok, I am a newbie.

I don't see anything when I point my browse at my web site.
/http://ghicksfamily.com/index.php
or
/http://ghicksfamily.com/zm.php

my goal is streaming video for security reasons.

*Installed mysql, and all the libmysqlclient, and ffmpeg.
*Mysql permissions seem to all be in order.
*Running on fedora with the 1.2.x version and apache
*USB camera validated with vidcat(w3cam)

Everything compiled with no errors (a few warnings).

The following is running when a ps -aef is done:

I assume the / before http is not really there when you try to access the page?

Yes you are correct, the leading slash is not there.
I do get a ZM symbol with firefox when it hits the page, but its blank.

The web page should display no matter what status or errors that the zm binaries through out. Your problem is some where in apache or php. Check your apache logs for any clues and post here. Also may be helpful to know what disrto this is on, apache version, and php version.

Try also putting this in your webs root call the file anything you want just not the same as I use for example for security reasons.

cd /var/www/html (for example)
vi info.php
and put this in it

If php is working you will see a nice table with lots of information.

Ok,
The suggestion for look into logs was helpful.

I am getting an error message:

[client 67.141.168.157] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_pconnect() in /var/www/html/zm_db.php on line 21

I double checked and install via (yum) php-mysql.i386.

Still getting the error.

In the php.ini you must enable zend.ze1_compatibility_mode
so that you have:
zend.ze1_compatibility_mode = On

Also make sure you have SELinux disabled or in passive mode (Passive mode generates alot of log info so best to just disable it).

Thank you for the help.

I enabled and restart httpd. Is there a php daemon/service?

Where to I change the SEL setting?

I also verified that mysql is up, and userid/password/and tables were all as should be (including permissions).

Just make sure you disable SELinux, save that config, and reboot the machine. After that you should not have to many issues. You may need to go back into the zm source directory and redo the make and make install, I don't remember though what all SELinux did so I'm not sure. So if you find that things are not working right and someone is sure that you have everything setup right. Just redo those two things (you can do it anyway to be sure if you would like

Will do, but how do you disable it?

Also I can't get my dev to not be "red", but at least
zmc --device 0 now pauses for 1sec before returning, so I think
I'm making progress.

Go to the menu bar-> Applications->System settings ->Security Level
Click on the SELinux tab and uncheck Enabled.
