"Expunge" Events Option

It would be nice to have an "Expunge" or "Really Delete" option when deleting events, so that when they are deleted from the event viewer they are not only removed from the database, but also from the filesystem. I'm sure everyone has experienced deleting an event and then later needing it again and glad that it still existed in ~/events, but some events we know that we want to delete forever (for instance if a neighbors sprinkler was on all weekend and generated 1000+ false events).

you can do this now. There is an option that turns off fast deletes. As default when you delete an event it is only removed from the db than next time zmaudit runs it deletes any files that dont match. ie if you have deleted it from the db zmaudit will find them on the fs and have no matching db entry so they will be deleted. If you turn this option off they will be deleted immediatly but id hate to think what it would do for performance.

What do I do for the several thousand events that I already "fast deleted"...they are no longer in the db, but they still exist in ~/events ? I know I can remove them manually, but whats the ZM way of handling this

If they don't disappear, check zmdc.log and zmaudit.log to make sure zmaudit.pl is running.
