A while ago i made a little spreadsheet (excel im afraid) to roughly work out hard disk sizes for record modes.
Obviously with the possible variation of modect and mocord there is no real way to estimate how long the disk will last.
As i tend to use zm only in mocord mode with a frrame skip and a hard fps limit i can work out my min and max record times.
Eg
4 cams on a single chip 4 input card.
each cam at approx 2.5 fps.
recorded image size 28k
Frame skip of 3
Enter these detail into spreadsheet
enter size of partition where images are stored (eg /var)
so my drive is 80 Gig used say 5 gig in root, swap and formating
leaves 75 Gig
Witht he above info i know the max im gonna keep is 13 days.
If all cameras are in alarm constantly im gonne keep 3.3 days
(obtained with all the above info with a frame skip of 0)
so in record mode ive got 13 days
in mocord mode anywhere between 3.3 and 13 days dependant upon site activity.
Now using the same info if i increase the frame skip to 6 i will get a max of 22.8 days.
Hopefully will be useful and available on my server for download at

Hope it helps
