Easy Purge Setting

Post by Ruler »

This is a redundent feature, but given the number of posts from people who are confused about it, it may be something worth adding.

Add an option in the main options to control the percentage of disk space used before events are purged automatically. This would do nothing more than alter and apply the filter PurgeWhenFull, but would be more visible and easier for the people who don't like searching the forums and reading. Anything over 100 or 0 would disable the filter, while anything else would enable it with the appropriate percentage.

Definitely a low-priority feature, but it may stop a lot of posts asking the same question.

Heh, I was just going to say that quite a few people don't bother reading the FAQ - they hunt around in the options and if they don't see what they need, they post a question, regardless of the fact that it's been answered about 5,613 times already. This would be nothing more than a more visible and direct method of controlling the filter - I have no idea how easy or difficult it would be to add, or if it's even something that would be useful.

Maybe the most logical way to get access to the filters is just to put a link for the filter window in one of the option tabs or have a link available in the console dependent on the user rights.

I think this is a sensible suggestion. I see if I can add an additional link somewhere in the Options dialog.
