Proper methodology of X10 configuration

Just as a checks and balances. I have connected a cm11a to my serial port 1 and looking at the logs I am recieving x10 commands. I have configured a trigger an currently using "o" device. Under options I have set my house code as "o". For each trigger (3 devices) I am using devices o3, o4 and o5. Noticed in the logs these come up as O03, O04 and O05. I am guessing at this time then that the proper device naming under trigger should have a leading "0" and want to make sure that is correct??

I'm afaid I can't be much help since I haven't used the X10 features and have no X10 devices. If no one else chimes in here try posting on the general 1.2x.x forum.

I am using Optex combo security cameras and wanting to use IR X-10 vs. video.

If you have set the house code to 'o' then device o3 is addressed simply as 3. In other words you do not need to specify the house code in the triggers. By convention I always use uppercase for the house code but I don't know if the X10 perl module is fussy about it or not.

Hello Phil,
Thank you for your response. As per documentation I originally just set the device code on the trigger and the house code under the main options tab. I didn't see any events being created so then I tried using the house code and device number in the trigger. I then switched back to just entering the device number for the x-10 trigger. I am using a combo of devices - Using Homeseer, Omni Pro II and Ocelot. Homeseer and Omni Pro II are set to see/send X-10 commands. I have disabled Ocelot X-10 functions at this time. The Optex IR's are connected to the Omni Pro II. I have the Omni Pro II sending out an "ON" for 5 seconds anytime it get's an "not secure message" from Optex IR. I look at the logs in Zoneminder and they indicate it is getting the "ON" X-10 messages but I do not see any events being created. Yesterday tried deleting device and creating it from scratch adding X-10 options when first creating it. That seemed to work yesterday but looking today no events were created. I can generate an X-10 signal out manually with Homeseer to test it. Is there anything else that I should be looking at?

X-10 - Part II - Zmdv_2006

Running now for a couple of days with ZM 1.21.4. Started with doing the upgrade - then re-installed more video capture cards and went to ZMDV_2006 install. So far running with no issues.
X-10 Triggers - not causing any installation / configuration problems and looking forward to being able to use xAP.
Just puchased an 8 chip / 8 port video capture card and when installed will be connecting it to 6 more video cameras.
Great program Phil!!
Dumb question relating to X-10

Curious, when I set up the X-10 trigger should I call that an external trigger and set function to "NODETECT" and make its zone "non active"?
I am seeing triggers but I believe the motion in the video is causing the triggers and not the X-10. IE - My twinkling Christmas lights cause motion detection alarms while at the same time I am not sensing any IR motion.

not getting a capture.
have tried:
1 - just the unit code in both activation and input alarm string
2 - unit code + 30 in both activation and input alarm string (and one or the other)
with no sucessful captures.

(Note, topic moved to more appropriate forum).
Can you post a bit more of your syslog. Why is your capture daemon being restarted?

RedHat v7.3-1 (2.4.18-3)
Pentium II 350Mhz
I have 2 profiles - Night & Day; the only difference is that the Night profile has X10 checked on, a unit code in the Output Alarm String field to turn on the porch lights upon motion. I also have stats enabled to fine tune the Zones and ZM_X10_DB_RELOAD_INTERVAL = 1800 (30min). Detections do occur but zmx10.log shows no entry. Why would the Loading Tasks occur at the specified interval for 1 profile but not the other?
