Server / Client
Server / Client
I've got 2 PCs both installed with 1.21.3, both connected to diferent cameras. One PC is just the box i.e. no monitor, keyboard etc.
How can I add the cameras from the 'box only PC' to the main PC, so that I can view / edit them? i.e. How do I set up a ZM Server / Client system?
And could I just keep adding other 'Box only clients'?

on your 'server' add monitors to it as remote cameras. they will work as if they were ip cams. The above will only work with static cameras as the ptz commands will Not be repeated on.

If I have 2 cameras on the Client, what is the correct format on the Server;
Remote Host Name Client_Cam_2
Remote Host Port 80
Remote Host Path http://192.168.2.55/zm/zm.php?username= ... ogin&mid=1

on the server create a new monitor
alter the source page
function = monitor
source type = remote
Source tab
remote host name ip of your server =eg 192.168.0.1
path = /cgi-bin/zm/nph-zms?mode=jpeg&monitor=1&scale=100&maxfps=5&user=user&pass=pass
modify monitor number to suit and user and pass
remote image colours = colour or mono dependant upon source
width and height must match remote zm box
repeat for other monitors

yeah if you want to do that you will need to put the web server on different ports, and set the port forwarding to suit.
Those paths should work but to be sure load up the live vie of just one monitor and check the path to the images, i think that ctu core uses a slightly different path, than other distros.
Is the box accesable if yu give me login rights temp i will get you the correct path

This still isn't working, and I think I've found out why.
Router : 192.168.3.1
XP : 192.168.3.50
Server : 192.168.3.245
Client : 192.168.3.145
PINGing from everywhere to everywhere works EXCEPT pinging to the client. For some reason the Client PC can access the Internet, can ping every other PC on the Intranet but NO local PC can ping 192.168.1.145
Why is this when 192.168.1.145 can obviously access everything?
Is it because 2 PCs have the same Hostname? (zm.local.domain)

is this a typo
I have zm machines with the same hostname and i can still ping them
what happens when you remove the other machine (the zm box) you can ping from the network can you ping the client then.
You havnt got a firewall on this client have you?
as you state previously its on 192.168.3.145but NO local PC can ping 192.168.1.145
