Hi,

I have zoneminder set up with one of the cheep ebay capture cards
4 port (1 chip ) cards.
These cards do say capture res 768x576

I have 4 daynight cctv cameras attached which are Pal 400line ones.

I have set zone minder to card=77 and capture size 320x240 pixles which works without any problems. the frame capture is around 2.6 due to the card switching between inputs but that is acceptable.


My question do I have the capture resolution set to low.
What should it be for a 400line pal camera.?

I have

the highest you can easily go is 368x288 due to thats the highest non interlaced res, you cn take it all the way up to 768 x 576 but you will get comb efect interlaceing issues. and as you have already said your cams are 400 tvl so they have upto 400 vertical lines so anything above this is a waste, you can try but moving objects will have slight noise on them, although some cards are better than others
