When I try and login I can't .... keeps going back inviting me to enter my password ... interestingly it changes the Login name from admin to admin` - - yes, it puts a little ' apostrophe after the login name. Any suggestions appreciated!

8ace,
First question is what version of ZM?
If it was working before, what if anything was done to make it break?
Also zm has always added an apostrophe to a user that has full rights since at least 1.17 that I know of so that is normal.

Strange, this is news to me. Where do you see an apostrophe?

It always shows up after the admin user. When I change the admin to another user the ' carries over. LOL I though this was to show that the user has full access. Is this not intended? I always liked it LOL.

Nope. Never seen this at all
Do you actually see it on the login view? Or a different view?

Ah. You don't mean the asterisk (*) do you? That is there to indicate who the current user is in the list.

Ah, well you live and learn! I probably never documented it anyway.
But that does take us back to the original problem, if it still exists. I would suggest capturing the sql query for the login. Searching for userLogin in the forums should find something I posted a few days for someone else I think.

finally logged in - so I can tell you the version! 1.21.0
It only affected me for a short while, so I am guessing it was something that went bump in the night...
Actually as I am a good few revisions out of date I am thinking it might be time to start over with the latest...
thanks and TGIF!

FYI, If you change the hash string or the method of login you should restart zm so that the rest of the processes load the correct information.
