blurry movement in images

Hi.

First I want to thank all the contributors and the creator of ZoneMinder. It's a killer tool.
Second. I've got a bit of a problem. In all of my cameras there is some blurriness in motion of an image. To demonstrate, take a look at this:

The idea of the above image was to be able to see the license plate, however that's not too easy and clear.
So, does anyone have any ideas on how to improve the quality of the images?

Thanks,
-Haxhia

The is the result of selecting a images size that requires interlacing which is what you are seeing. This can be improved on by setting the ZM_CAPTURES_PER_FRAME in options under the Config tab to 2 or 3 although this will not make it go away and reduces your frame rate a bit. If you have the drivers for your card from the manufacturer (not many support Linux) you may be able to use them and get better performance. Since ZM has to make two image grabs to make one image for anything larger than 320x240 you are seeing the difference in time between the grabs.

Here is your image after removing the interlacing

Corey,

Did you just sharpen this image in The GIMP? Please explain the steps it took you to get the results.

Thanks,

Select the area to deinterlace (You don't want to deinterlace the time stamp, I usualy select the time stamp and invert the selection)
In the filters look for deinterlace and select.

The overhead on the system probably would not be worth it.
Things will improve but every one has to be patient as the driver developers do their thing and things come down the line.
Till then we have to put up with the interlacing / fuzzy / blury looking images.
