Code: Select all

Dec 14 19:15:47 localhost zm: ^[[65G
Dec 14 19:15:47 localhost zm: [^[[1;31m
Dec 14 19:15:47 localhost zm: FAILED
Dec 14 19:15:47 localhost zm:
Dec 14 19:15:47 localhost rc: Starting zm: failed
My home machine 1.21.4 showed stopped in the console today but was streaming and recording fine, i clicked on the stopped and selected start it went through the motions and nothing, so i restarted the server. big mistake, now it shows stopped and is stopped. All i can find in the logs from the restart is the above. Now i have used the google ancient mongolian, deep nowhere dialect translater, and apparently it means
"your woman needs more shoes" but that didnt help me, any ideas folks

got zmpkg
Command: start
Executing: /usr/bin/zmdc.pl check
Command: start
Executing: /usr/bin/zmdc.pl check
Command: stop
Executing: su apache --shell=/bin/sh --command='/usr/bin/zmdc.pl check'
Command: start
Executing: su apache --shell=/bin/sh --command='/usr/bin/zmdc.pl check'
Command: start
Executing: /usr/bin/zmdc.pl check
Command: start
Executing: /usr/bin/zmdc.pl check
Command: start
Executing: /usr/bin/zmdc.pl check
but no nothing usefull. Im assuming this is a non zm faulty as this is a recycled machine. My other test machine with 1.21.4 is fine. everything else is 1.21.3 and there good too,

You know thats funny you should mention (not really), I was just playing a bit on my machine and noticed two zmdc.pl processes running. I decided to restart from the console and it failed. I could still see one process running. I went to the web console and it showed that it is also running (but it's not really, anyway there is no zmc, zma, etc.. running) so from the console I restarted zm, and it worked :? but this still leaves two zmdc processes

The only thing in any of the logs is in messages:
Dec 15 00:08:08 gandalf zm: Starting ZoneMinder:
Dec 15 00:08:08 gandalf su(pam_unix)[4005]: session opened for user apache by (uid=0)
Dec 15 00:08:08 gandalf su(pam_unix)[4005]: session closed for user apache
Dec 15 00:08:09 gandalf zm:
Dec 15 00:08:09 gandalf rc: Starting zm: failed

All other logs are clean (zmdc, zmpkg, error_apache, etc..) :?

It's only this one machine as well. Of coarse it was installed via rpm on FC3 i386 zm-1.21.4

The other machine x86_64 Is not suffering this. I'm sure I have messed something up but I'm not quiet sure what.

Both RPMs are almost identical, The Mandrake build just buts things in different folders.
I pretty sure it's something I have done after installing the RPM as it was functioning normally before I added a few things. I'm just at a loss where to look as other than the failed to start in messages and the fact that there is a second zmdc process that will not go away (it even creates zm.sock) I don't know any where else to look :?
It will start fine from the web interface but not the command line useing the init script and it runs with out errors :head scratching: I'm at a brick wall at the moment.

I did find this in the prelink.log though:

Code: Select all

/usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0.0.0 00101000-001bec40

still struggling on this one as its dead zm just wont start.
Im wondering if i broke something when trying to install phpsysinfo, as i was adding al sorts of rpm's
If i trype zmpkg.pl start it pauses for a bit then no output
stop does nothing and status just gives me an empty line

any ideas people
