mocord - replay "interesting" parts of events

I am running zm-1.21.4 and have it running in "mocord" mode. I get one event every 600 seconds, which is of course 10 minutes long. I'm using Firefox 1.0.7 as the client.
I can replay the whole event, e.g. by clicking on "Event-109" in the Filters view.
I can view individual frames which contain alarms, by clicking on the "alarm frames" count in the Filters view, and then going to frame number 445 (say) which is highlighted in red. I can then skip forward and backwards one frame at a time.
My question is: is it possible to start a real-time replay from a particular point within an event? Or pause/rewind/fast-forward in replay view? If so I haven't yet seen how to do it
Thanks,
Brian.

no not through the web interface you can watch an event (movie style) through the web ui and watch it from the beginning at a certain rate. If you need this functuionality form the web ui the only way is to create a video and download that and rewind etc from there. The other way, windows only) is to use zm4ms but i would advise a bit more time with zm first as there are a lot of zmism's in zm4ms

Sorry but that hasn't been incorperated yet. I think it's in the requests though so maybe someday in the future.

Rewind and forwarding etc will require a new viewer really and so are a little way off. Playing a particular point in an event is not very hard to implement however so I will look and see if I can fit that in. I can see it would be probably most useful when browsing through the timeline so I'll stick it there first.

Yes that seems an obvious place. Another nice option would be if the replay viewer included a mini-timeline just for the event you are viewing. Clicking on a point on that line would restart the replay from that place.

I agree. Maybe a sort of pre-event recording so you can see the occurances maybe 5 sec (or user definable) prior and post alarm.

Hmm, I hate suggestions like that because once I've heard them once I can't forget about them and end up spending hours getting them working instead of doing any real work

Hey Phil,
It might just be easier than you think. The work for such a thing was done by Serg Oskin some time back. I'm pretty sure I still have the patchs and code on my workstation. If you would like I can tar them up and send them to you, or I know that they were documented here at one time (Just not sure where. A search for "progress bar" might turn up something.

Ack! Too late, I've already done it! I've put it in rc3 which is just going up now. I said that once I get this kind of thing in my head I'm lost until I fix it!
