No picture on the watch screen.

When I open up the watch window, Zoneminder usually shows the current live video feed from the canera.

Since I upgraded from 1.21.4 to 1.22.0, all I get is the broken image symbol.

I can force an event and view the capture and I see the images just fine.

The same is true for the Cycle / Montage views.

If I setup a zone, I can see the image.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

The only errors I see are in syslog but I don't know what they mean.

The errors mean that your cameras are not responding to image requests in time, do you know what your http timeout is?

I'm a bit confused you see anything really but you said that you can see the stream in the cycle and montage views but not in the watch window?

Can you check your syslog/messages file just atfer a stream attempt.

I am not seeing the stream in the Cycle / Montage or Watch screens at all.

I can see stills just fine.

HTTP timeout is 2500 ms.

Here is syslog after a stream

It just seems to look like your camera is not responding at all. Can you do an image grab with wget to check that works, and if possible time how long the response takes to arrive.

I ran this command which downloaded the image instantly.

zmu -m 3 -i
zmu -m 2 -i

One for camera 2 and 3.

Yesterday when I was running 1.21.4, this setup worked just fine. I guess I should of left it.

I wonder if this is related to the problem I'm seeing? Are your zm html files in /var/www/html or /var/www/html/zm, and /var/www/cgi-bin or /var/www/cgi-bin/zm ? (Or whatever is appropriate for your distribution...)

What is the URL of the [broken] image? What happens if you remove the "/zm" from the middle of the url? Do you get an image?

eg. I found that this works:
http://localhost/cgi-bin/zms?mode=singl ... &scale=100
where this failed:
http://localhost/cgi-bin/zm/zms?mode=si ... &scale=100
but worked with 1.21.4...

Html are in /var/www/htdocs/zoneminder
CGI is in /var/www/cgi-bin

I am running Slackware 10.1 + some patches.

Here is the broken link points to.
http://localhost:81/cgi-bin/nph-zms?mod ... 1137791449

There is no /zm in the URL.

Can you try this

Code: Select all

export QUERY_STRING='mode=jpeg&monitor=2&scale=100&maxfps=5'
/var/www/cgi-bin/nph-zms > zms.out
assuming that is the path to your zms. Let it run for a few seconds and then post the first 20 lines or so of zms.out.

Did you get anything after this, probably garbagey binary characters? If so then it looks like it's working properly.

You are correct sir!

After the above it was all binary.

Still doesn't work.

Then I'm a bit stuck.

It's capturing events correctly and you can reply them, and the streaming daemon is serving up content correctly. So I'm at a bit of a loss to understand why you can't see anything.

What browser are you using? Maybe you could try using Cambozola even if you are using FireFox, just to see if it makes any difference.

I am using Netscape which worked just fine before the upgrade.

I also tried IE and Firefox but those fail also.

How do you setup Cambozola? I couldn't find any info on how to set it up.
