Zoneminder, Excellent!!!

This is not a whinge or ask for help.
Just to say that apart from my silly mistake earlier, that setting up Zoneminder on Ubuntu 5.10 was the easiest and quickest out of all the distros I have ever attampted to install it on.
All the required packages and modules were either on the disk or available using the Synaptics package update application.
The only snag was with FFMPEG, so I decided to ditch that and go without FFMPEG. Big big problems with AVICODEC and AVIFORMAT and a couple of others. Could not figure it out, think the Zoneminder build could not seem them.
I admit it still took me a day and a half (on and off, mainly digging out required packages and modules for the build using Synaptics), but wow.
I was only initially able to get one Quickcam webcam working because of the system I have it running on, Pentium 2 400Mhz with 256 RAM and 1 USB 1.1 Hub with 2 ports.
But now I have slapped in a cheap £7 USB2 PCI card with 6 ports and 4 controllers on board, both Quickcam webcams are now running at full speed and the whole system is running a lot faster too.
I have decided to push it a little further and try sticking on another camera (when purchased) and then another after that.
I'll let you know how it goes when I get the next camera.
If anyone is just starting out with ZM and not sure which distro to try it on, try Ubuntu, much easier.
