Hey all, I am running ZM 1.21.4 and ive got quite a problem.. my HDD is filling up at a very constant rate. Check out this cacti graph.

It started going down when I manually deleted stuff in the events dir...

Not sure why its happening.. the mode is set to Modetect... and here are my zones..

You have just enclosed the zone image, any motion will be outlined in the actual events, if you have configured ZM to do so. Are you getting events created?

And yes, your disk will fill continuously until you either (a) manually delete some events or (b) set up the purge when full filter. See the FAQ for details.

Its just constantly recording though.. not just when there's movement?

and at the main menu it says events is 0, same for hour, day, week, etc... is that right? I thought it would only write to the HDD when motion was detected (which I dont think it is because its saying 0 events?)

Are you sure you don't have it set to mocord?
Mocord will continuosly record yet can log 0 events.

The function you want is modect.

if your using mocord and a section length of 600 seconnds you would get 6 events per hour, so i dont think your in mocord mode, i can only assume your zone is super sensitve and is cconstantly in alarm, iif so the event would never end and thus a new event never started so you would be recording flat out but no events would seem to appear. To prove this change your mode to none then back to modect and look at all events, i would expect you will have 1 massive long event. If you can post your zone settings i check for the obvious if you want
