CPU Upgrade

I upgraded my 1.22 box today from a 700Mhz Duron to a 1600 XP Athlon.
Kept the same motherboard/memory, HD everything else.

I did not change my OS, or ZoneMinder config.

I had one lock up this afternoon. A CPU upgraded doesn't require a reload/rebuild of the os does it?

By the way, the performance was significantly better! I also order 1 gig of memory and will upgrade when it arrives (I was using 384K)

Depending on your distro, you may need to change a few things like your kernel, kernel-utilities, pcmcia (if you use it), grub, and anything else that might be architecture Dependant for your distro.

Some distros are very basic ie all i686 based with no optimizations in which I think you should be okay. Others might optimize to the specific processor ie amd vs intel.
