hi
i have a card with 4xconexant fusion 878a chips,4 ports
with one black/white indoor camera
and
one full colour outdoor camera connected

system is slack10.1

fist of all the driver is loading really long (5-10mins)
after the system is loaded i wanna try it on xawtv first
but all i can see is blue and black screens on all
of the composits (16)

my syslog:

but i've tried cards 2,10 and 77 too

anyone knows what can should i do?

Make sure that if you have differant palette types, they are using differaent 878 chips. You can't mix palettes on one chip.

Always the case when the card is not properly configured.

I think you have defined 4400 as card= 132,133,132,132

Check with this:
modprobe bttv gbuffers=16 card=133,132,133,133

hi

well i missed that Cordel wrote about 133,132,133,133....

now i can see streaming video signal only from black/white camera
wich is connected to port4 (composite3), the colour camera which is connected to port1 (composite0) still has a blue screen and after 2-3 mins of viewing composite3 system is restarting :(

looking forward for more ideas...

What are your camera settings?
The two different palette types has to use a differant chip.
Something like this should work:

B/W cam
/dev/video0 (0)

Color Cam
/dev/video1(1)

:)
i know how to define monitors in ZM :)
but i have no idea how i can check those settings that You gave
if i can see only one video device (/dev/video0) after the module is
loaded....
it looks like just one device with 16 composits...

It sould have given you four devices.

Code: Select all

Also yes you will have 0-15 composit inputs but they are assigned to the chip through you device setting.

ok so i've installed ZM and got same thing...
when i connect just one camera.... the colour one
still i cant see any image... when i choose grey palette
all i can see is blach image, rgb24 i see blue image, yuyv
i see red image
when i connect black/white camera instead of that colour one
i can see gray image on settings /dev/video0, Device Channel =0,
Device Format (0=PAL,1=NTSC etc) = 3

what is wrong? why i cant see colour image....?? i've tested that camera
on TV... it is working really good

i am sorry for mistake....
when i connect B/W camera instead of the colour one i see image from that camera... really good image.. in gray pallette... but what can i do to make the colour one working?

ok so i've set up :

B/W cam
/dev/video0 (0)

Color Cam
/dev/video1(1

31. video1 Monitor /dev/video0 (0)
33. New Monitor /dev/video1 (1)

the first one(B/W) works pretty good but still all i got from colour one is blue image.... the first one is connected to the first port on the card, the scound one is connected to the next one...

what else should i do?

hmm strange....
when i've connected colour camera to the first port and b/w camera to the third one i see both images :) but both are in grey pallette.....

configuration :

31. video1 Monitor /dev/video0 (0)
35. lalalala Monitor /dev/video2 (2)

the first one is the colour one.... and it is set up to rgb24 pallette
so why both are grey?

i have only scanned this post but have you tried setting both palletes to colour?
