I have a 900 that I was able to get setup without a problem. Is there a way I can setup the 950 to work with ZM?

Maybe some progress

Hi

I have a Dlink (dont remember the model though :? )

Source Tab on Monitor:
Remote Host Name: user:pass@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Remote Host Port: 80
Remote Host Path: /video.cgi
Remote Image Colours: 24 bit colour
Capture Width (pixels): 320
Capture Height (pixles): 240
Orientation: Normal

I hope this helps!

I looked at these and a few other D-Link models for our security sales web page and could only find two models I think will work with ZoneMinder. The newer models all seem to require Active X and IE 6. I wrote my D-Link pre-sales contact about it and requested they make a firmware update that would allow something other than Active X. D-Link has a lot of tendency to focus on Microsoft Windows compatibility first then anything else as an afterthought. Here is a URL for one of the PDF Data Sheets I reviewed:

ftp://ftp10.dlink.com/pdfs/products/DCS ... 20G_ds.pdf

Look at Viewing System Requirement Protocol on the second page.

I am here in the forums now looking to see if anyone has managed to magically get any of these newer D-Link cameras(1) working with ZoneMinder. So far I am not sanguine about the outcome of my search.

(1) DCS-950, DCS-950G, DCS-3220G, DCS-5300G PTZ, DCS-6620G PTZ

I recently set up a dlink although I cant remember the model it worked the same way as my trendnet .

Remote Host Name: user:pass@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Remote Host Port: 80
Remote Host Path: /image.jpeg
Remote Image Colours: 24 bit colour
Capture Width (pixels): 320 >>(depends on camera settings)
Capture Height (pixles): 240 >>(depends on camera settings)
Orientation: Normal

Although TrenNet told me you could not grab the .jpeg's from the camera.
(trial and error showed me the way.)

Anyone get this working?

Has anyone got either the D-Link DCS-950 or 950G to work with ZoneMinder? I'm about to buy a couple but don't want to if they won't work.

Hi -

I just wanted to follow up - I had no luck with the DCS-950. Since it is so closely related to the DCS-950G, I wouldn't expect that one to work either, since the only difference is the wireless capability.

It looks like this is not possible because D-Link insists on some crap ActiveX garbage, which makes deciphering the "real" URL next to impossible.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there.

Thanks
-dan

It's a shame there isn't something similar to OpenWRT which would replace the firmware on all these cheap cameras with something that's actually usable. :(
