Hi

I'm thinking about system, where I have two LAN's on different locations, connected with 2Mbit xDSL (up/down). Both LAN's have ZM servers and I want nightly exports (data+events) from LAN one to LAN two for future use (archiving /backuping/viewing etc). Is there that kind of feature buil in ZM?

I have idea how to copy events (directory-s/jpg-s) with (rsync/scp etc), but how export/import mysql records from one system to other? It's hard to separate events from diferent ZM systems, because there is no system identificator in event names (directory and jpeg filenames) and mysql datarecords?

If anyone have idea (or maybe even solution) how to resolve my issue, i'm ready to hear it !

PS: I know that my issue sounds more like enterprise solution, not simple one ZM system for home usage.

like you say the images shouldnt be aproblem.

I have read elsewhere about db's that mysql can run in a replicated mode, where a master server sends its data to various slaves or vice versa. I think i read about it on a mysql forum when sorting mysql access for zm4ms. Im pretty sure it was advused againt as it merges records but it might work one way?
I also found a ;linux app that boots from disk and basically ghost's it via ftp, would require a reboot.

I suppose you could have a master mysql server and 2 machines that stored their images local then uploaded at night for backup purposes.
I looked at ftp'ing all images a while ago but bandwith became an issue and i think it still will with your setp unless your using modect i suppose
