Overscan, sync PAL camera problem

I am a total green horn to linux but managed to get ZoneMinder FC3 CTU Distro v1.21.3 up and running OK.

However the problem I have is that any monitor on any port of the installed Conexant 878A four input card produces a badly overscaned non synching monitor window.
I have tried numerous resolution settings but none have produce a synced signal. I am useing comon 400line PAL cameras.

The same machine ( and card ) performs OK under WIN32 apps (but does not have the features that ZM will provide I hope).

I have read a thread called "CTU video Question" and suspect this could be the problem. What should be in the modprode.conf for my 878A card??
Or what other problems should I look for.?

It works now.

Added "options bttv card=77" to /etc/modprobe.conf

NB card is same as in topic "generic 4 port bt878 based card"
