Signal loss on network camera

I have just added a wireless camera, but I am getting thousands of signal loss events on it when I set it to Modetect. I have another camera that is working fine. I thought signal loss was only on local camera's. I have deleted the camera and re-created it, but there is no change. I have tried modifying the ZM_SIGNAL_CHECK_POINTS value to 1 and 1000, but it makes no real difference. I get about one event per second. Ist here a way to suppress this function in the config files? I only have remote cameras adn have no need for it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have used this same camera for years with Zoneminder with no problems and this problem just came up after a crash and reinstall of 1.22.0. This seems to be a type of bug in that Signal loss events should not be recorded for network cameras. I have deleted and recreated the monitor several times with no change. The video is in Monitor is fine, but in any of the other modes(except None) thousands of Signal events are generated every hour.

I am experiencing the same issue, although I also have problems with the images being garbled frequently. I believe mine might me a memory issue.

Have you reviewed /var/log/messages ?

I found warning about potential buffer overruns that o believe are symptomatic of a problem ZM is interpreting as a LOS.

If my memupgrade corrects it, Ill post.

This is basically what it says on the tin, and has th esame meaning as a 404 error on a browser. Basically the path you have entered to fetch your image does not appear to exist. Check your monitor setup to make sure you have used a valid path.

Is there anything else that can cause this error? I can see the video stream fine in the monitor window and of course I can wget an image. I have checked my Apache error logs but they have no useful info. Here is my Apache access log. Are ther other logs I can check other than Messages, zmdc.log and zmwatch.log?

OK, I have it working better now. I have to turn the Max FPS down to 2 or less or else I get the 404 error. This triggers a signal loss error. Is there a way to supress the signal loss error checking completely?

There should be no possibility for geting a signal loss error on a network camera, it just doesn't go down that path so that baffles me a bit. Also fps should not affect whether your camera can server up pages, it either can or it can't and I don't see why it might decide that if it's busy that it will return a 404 when a 500 would be more appropriate I would have thought.

Hate to differ,

But I get the signal loss / signal restored events all the time... and I only have network cameras. Only happins in the AXIS camera. Panasonic works fine.

How can I help you get to the bottom of it?

Any updates on this or thoughts on what else to try? I would like to increaset the frame rate, but I get too many Signal events if I do. Right now I am at about 10 per day which is manageable.

What type of camera do you have?

I have Axis. Under version 1.22.1 I was forced to change my host path from mjpg to jpg in order to improve my issues. Dont think our issues were the same exactly, but it may be worth a shot.
