The way I managed it (before I gave that machine to the Ex-girlfriend what happens when you have a bought of cranial rectumitis and a case of dumb arse, you lose the girl ) was I installed FC3 on the machine. I then installed ZM (rpms), I made any missing RPMS needed for asterisk (on my web/repo server), Adjusted the install scripts for FC (There are packages available in FC that are not available for cent and are built from source: MC, festival, etc.)
I removed the apache config file from aah and manualy set some of the settings leaving apache as the user and group.
I also set the asterisk user to be part of the apache group.
I'm sure there is more but at the moment thats all I recall. I'll post some more as I remember it.
I didn't use CentOS because the default kernel does not build the bttv drivers. You have to install the unsupported kernel or build the drivers your self. That just seemed like a bit to much work for me, thus I used FC3.

Corey
