random ending of events

i have noticed that 1.22.0 seems to end events early, ie i have a system all set to mocord. I have 2 systems i have noticed doing this. Rather than run an event for 600 secs it stops it say after 50 secs and creates a new one. This is ok assuming the events are of a serious length but soemtimes they are repeatedly 2-3 seconds lang max and i get hundreds of events then per hour. Any clues. I will check logs but all i can see is ending evenst and starting events

I will try and reproduce this. Are there any other pertinent facts that might help?

this is the same system that creates all the events so hold on this one and hopefully when i/we/you find what is wrong i reakon this will be fixed too

a restart has stopped the thousands of events being created and its back to 6 an hour but on further inspection i found this when filtertering the messages log for 'war'

Due to the problems all cams are now capturing at 1 fps the were on 2fps.
I was running at 2 fps with a frames skip of 4 in mocord mode. I have chnaged to 1 fps with 0 frame skip until i find out what is wrong.

I dont think its a filesystem issue as a restart cures it
Spec of machine
AMD 4200+ X2
1 Gig of ram
3 x 250 Gig and 1 x 160Gig in a LVM
Asus A8v mobo I used this as i built a few win 2k3 servers with sk8v's with 6months + uptime
Lots of fans and a 550w PSU
Ram is kingston

I dont think its hardware and im wondering if this would stop with 1.21.3 as i have never seen it before.
I have another system a 1600+ sempron with 6 cams on it. All cams are 3 fps, all are at 640x480 apart from 1 megapixel axis 1280x1024 and this has been fine with 1.22.0. And its loading is much higher than the above problem system. Above system sits at about 40% idle on each processor

I have just checked the logs omn this system again and i am having no more buffer underruns apart from the above that accured just after the restart

This happens routenly after about 2 days and a restart cures it. So im out of ideas now. I dont think its being overloaded as regardless of load setting its fine for about 2 days!

DOut to the above I have made the ring buffer size 80 but i think its something else as it doesnt do this fopr a while after a reboot

update on problem, had to set frame buffer to 60, and pre and post to 2 as i don think 1 gig was enough as it was swapping

I think your short events are because of process restarts but I can't see any obvious reason why the routing to the remote cameras suddenly disappears which is what seems to happen according to the logs here.

entries. Were you able to check how many files/folders were in that directory?

It doubly strange because your networking and disk seem to go at the same sort of time but there is nothing in the logs to identify the underlying cause. Are you able to check that nothing is leaking memory etc as without more low level system diagnostics it's very difficult to tell what the root cause is.

well this is a new box so it could be something major. Ignore the network cam outage as the site has unplugged that camera.

re the cannot write etc after a restart that stops but i think that its due to the number of events. I have uppes the buffers etc, but i make no changes when it starts apart from a restart
