Looks like the database user was not set properly.
Make sure you have the correct user and password set in /etc/zm.conf
Make sure the database was created.
Then if make sure you have run zminit.

Corey

hi Corey - I added user root (password blank) into zm.conf.

But when I run zminit I get

ERROR (/etc/zm.conf): ZM_DB_PASS should exist and not be empty.

what do I need to do with / what is ZM_DB_PASS?
:)

thx

ahh ... I read the instructions wrong. I added root as the id and blank as the password in zm.conf!

zm is up. Discounting time lost due to my unbridled enthusiasm, total install time - 30 mins or less!

Thanks!

No one likes good news, but...

1. absolutely standard Fedora install from Corey
2. 7 video cameras - FOUR miscellaneous junky BT cards in my 1.something GHz AMD(one 4pt ebay spesh) and a mix of odd tuner and capture cards.
3. Absolutely no special configurations carried out (wouldn;t know how to anyway)
3. My homemade web pages are now sitting in the root, with zm in /zm/ - running dyndns through IPCOP (Cheapsville, USA!)

Astonishing. With the exception of my not being able to read properly, let's make that 1 hours total install time!

thanks Corey and have a great evening....
