PCI slot trouble.

Post by james »

Hi,

Here is an uncommon query :

I have a DELL SC1425 with FC4 an zoneminder 1.22 on it. It worls well ith my Axis 211 and Axis 206.

Before that, Zoneminder was running on a "desktop" pc with same cameras + a capture card (the 'famous' Grand X).

My problem is, this card doesn't fit in my DELL's only available PCI slot.

So this is the only PCI slot available on my DELL :

This is the slot i had on my desktop computer mother board :

And you probably know this one :

What i found is that my Dell has a 3,3 PCI-x slot and my card requires a 5v slot PCI (or PCI-X)

So what can I do ? adapters 3,3V -> 5v ? buy another card ? which one ?

Thank you

i think that pci x is pci express and completly different. I assume you have a server dell and that is a 64 bit slot not a 32 bit

Yes it is a 64 bit slot. But from what I know there is no troube putting a PCI 32 bit 5v on a PCI-X 64 bit 5v as well as putting PCI 32 bit 3,3v on PCI-X 64 bit 3,3v.

What I need is an adapter PCI 32 bit 5v to PCI-X 64 bit 3,3V slot. But I don't thing I will found that ...

But maybe someone knows a good PCI(-x) 3,3v capture card I can put on my server ?

Thank you.
