Shared Memory problem

Hi,

I seem to be having a shared memory problem even though I altered the sysctl.conf as follows:

frank@wdshss:/etc> cat sysctl.conf
# Disable response to broadcasts.
# You don't want yourself becoming a Smurf amplifier.
net.ipv4.icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts = 1
# enable route verification on all interfaces
net.ipv4.conf.all.rp_filter = 1
# enable ipV6 forwarding
#net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding = 1
kernel.shmall = 134217728
kernel.shmmax = 134217728

see the error below:

This looks like just the zmatch log, which will only be showing secondary errors. Check /var/log/messages and see if there is something more illuminating in there.

ok I'll check it out.

The only reason I'm posting is because now ZM, even though it's "running", refuses to trigger on a motion event and just throws an alarm (in RED) under the video montage window when something is active in the cam view. It does not record the event though...

thanks

I would limit your max fps per cam to say 5 as 120 fps req some serious hardware

I checked my MAX FPS and it is 0.0.

I wonder if I have messed-up any of these values:

Image Buffer Size (frames) 30
Warmup Frames 25
Pre Event Image Buffer 10
Post Event Image Buffer 10
Alarm Frame Count 1

It does look in a bit of a state. The duplicate key errors are a bit worrying as they imply there is something wrong with the db. Have you tried doing a mysqlcheck on it?

ok looks like there were issues as you suspected.

I hope this was a one-time deal. Otherwise, I'm not sure how it happened so I cannot be sure to not do it again (if I caused this problem).

ok now after I ran the mysqlcheck the first time I tested ZM again and still get the same results (no events captured as seen by ZM). However I do notice that the events directory is filling with events, the DB still has ERRORS, see below:

it looks like you have something seriously wrong with you db maybe delete it all and start again? also max fps of 0 means no maximum put a number in here at least to begin with. eg 5. Also you might want to check the disks are ok fsck

it looks like mysqlcheck didn't fix anything...

try

Code: Select all

mysqlcheck -r
otherwise it won't repair.

Looks better now. Only question is HOW did it get this way? The only change I made was to reassign the cameras and all eck broke lose. Could that have been the reason?

thanks

In my experience I aso had this error. My personal recommendation is to try converting your database over to INNODB tables. Researching the web I found this to be faster for larger tables (as events grow) and much more reliable.
