We are using ZoneMinder with the acquisition board IVC-200 with the chip Conexant 878.

In the “monitor” mode all workr right.

The ZoneMinder version in use is 1.22.0 on a SuSE 9.3.



Our intention would be to use ZoneMinder for a circular recording, where we set a recording length (say one week) and ZoneMinder keeps stored a complete period while continuously recording.

Is this possible with ZoneMinder?



Also: we tried to set the video source in Record mode but the result was that at each minute a new event is created, and 4 frames are saved on the disk, but from the web interface the event looks empty.

What’s wrong?

i have a random starting of new events on 1.22.0 that i cant resolve yet but
if you have a section legth of 600 and you use record you should create a new event every 600 seconds (10 mins) it will continue to do this until the hd is exhausted. You then you a purge when full filter to automatiically delete the oldest 6 events (1hour) when the disk is 95% full.
So yes you can but we need to resolve your new event every few seconds as even though it works you will soon hit the 32000 event per monitor limit.
what hardware your running on ie mobo, proc etc etc.
