Need to start up xawtv first before image in ZM

Post by byte »

I now have it running :) on reboot using SuSE 10 I find I have to start off xawtv and change it over to composite 1 then I find the zm window shows the image, it's also true if I change from modect to monitor again I have to reset xawtv and then it comes into the zm window, is this something I done or not done?

Had a search but couldn't find nothing.

Thanks again for any help!

No i had this once too and i think its something to do with a new card. Thats not fully supported by your kernel as i did a kernel update and it went away. Im sure i read about running xaw as a crom job on startup before zm to set the parameters though. But i think all can be passed via options in the bttv driver

Hi James,

Thing is when I tested this out with the LiveCd I didn't need to start xawtv it worked out of the box as it should do. Not sure what kernel it's using but I'm using kernel...

2.6.13-15-default

Don't suppose you remeber how you got it working did you? or a script you used to start off xawtv?

Many thanks for you reply!

The card looks like has one white box type thingy where the tuner is, and 2 black chips, one chip below the white box has BT 484KPF and the other black chip to the right of the white tuner box has MSP3410D

lol id check you card number is right first as it appears that xaw is changing the channel correctly but bttv cant itself. Once you get the correct card setup it should be fine. Like i said i have a hauppage thing and installed it as they said with their card number but it wouldnt work correctly, the inputs were mixed up etc. Once i set it to osprey 100 its been great since
