Can't get shared memory id '7a6d2002'

Post by bartekj »

Dear Users,

I have recenly installed ZM 1.22.2 and facing a problem.
I can see my streaming through ZM, but when I change setting to the capture camera stops working and I need to reboot machine or just rmmod bttv and modprobe again.
this is what i see in log files:

Could somebody tell me how I could solve this?

Any time you change settings for any camera, you must restart zm so that all the components are updated with the new settings.
Can you elaborate on this a bit more just in case I misunderstood?

Hi,

restart of ZM does not help at all.
I need to restart PC or unload bttv module and load it again.
It happens when I make any changes in configuration option of capture device in ZM.

I really do not know what the problem might be.

Hi

I have following card
PCI SDVR-404A
http://www.allegro.pl/item101109619_101109619.html

It is loading on boot, only it takes 5 minutes long.
Then I start ZM, works perfectly... Then I change setting to capture device like resolution (high width) after saving new changes I do not see anymore video. Restarting ZM simply does not help. Need to reboot PC.

Does anybody has the same problem?
Bartosz

PS I will try upgarding to newer kernel and see if this is going to help.

Sounds like the card is not being set correctly. Please run the following commands.
dmesg |grep bttv

This next command will return allot so please find the capture card info and cut and paste that snip here as well.
lspci -vv

You can also find more helpful info in the FAQ/WIKI that I just posted last night.

Hi,

i'd say your kernel doesn't have SHM-support enabled,

an other issue would be if the size of shm is too small,..
